Hi, friend!

Hi friend! I am so glad you have stopped by the site. We have such a wonderful community of moms here and we would LOVE for you to join us as we share life and learn together!

You Always Have a Choice {even when it doesn't feel like it}

You Always Have a Choice {even when it doesn't feel like it}

You have been on point with your health goals. Getting that water in. Exercise DVDs completed every morning. No eating after dinner, and you even said no TWICE to the candy bowl at work. You are feeling strong, in control, and things are finally in the flow.

Then, you get invited to a work party, or a girls night out, or wedding. And not just one for the weekend, but two. Suddenly you feel the anxiety creep in. "What am I supposed to do? I have no control over the food here! And CAKE! I haven't had cake in months?!"

I had just finished up a coaching call with a client and we were discussing this very issue. She would get anxiety and frustration about keeping to her health goals in situations where she didn't have control like parties, cookouts, weddings etc.

It is a very real struggle and there are a few ways you can practically work with that, but the bigger point I wanted to get across to her was this. While you may not always have control, you always have a choice. This switch in mindset will help so much as it puts you on the offense instead of the defense. And perhaps the biggest choice we make in those types of situations is to be kind to ourselves, extend grace, and move on.

ย

While she and I were talking about health, this same concept applies to all areas of our lives. We are all faced with situations out of our control, so how we respond is crucial. You always have a choice. May it be rooted in truth, love, faith, grace, and kindness!

Press on!
