I felt the joy of accomplishment.
I made it to Costco.
Laura was only 2 weeks old. I was cleared to drive. And it was my first outing by myself as a new mama.

My plan was to leave her in the infant carrier in the cart, so I'd have my hands free to pick up the groceries we needed. I was smiling in the joy of new-mama-figuring-things-out success...

Remembering Memorial Day... When You Almost Forgot

Maybe you are reading this on Monday morning and you didn't really plan ahead for Memorial Day...

Or maybe it's Monday night or later in the week and the weekend was packed full of camping, barbecues, friends, family, good food, and you had a great time, but are realizing that you never really honored Memorial Day in the way that you'd intended.

Don't Outgrow the Nursery

This Sunday we will have to decide whether or not we should hand out saltine crackers.

And we'll be busy matching diaper bags with nametags and who is supposed to take a nap and whose hairclip got pulled out and which baby is the odor culprit and what toys were slobbered and need to be washed.

And there's potential in there for us to be outnumbered. And out maneuvered. And there have definitely been Sundays when all I've wanted was-- out.

I know Keri as-- wife to Jeff, a senior pastor and church planter, mom to four children (Tyler, Christian, Daniel and Anna), women's ministry leader, biblical counselor, speaker, and writer who blogs regularly for the Biblical Counseling Coalition and who has written about parenting for The Gospel Coalition.

I asked Keri if she'd be willing to share from a mama's perspective-- what God has been teaching her through this process and how God is using this incredible adventure in their lives.
While most of us will never face the challenges (and excitement) of their specific experience, many of Keri's parenting struggles and prayers are ones that as moms, we can all relate to...
