Oct 20 A Story Bible for Adults??

For many adults, it can be overwhelming to read through and understand the Bible. Of course there is no substitution for the Word of God and studying to understand it, but I do believe we can also learn through creative ways that tell the stories throughout the Scriptures. There are so many story Bibles for kids (which I LOVE and always enjoy reading through with my children), but I’ve always wished there was something for my older teens or even adults.

Over the years, there have been many ways that people have illuminated the Bible with everything from songs to plays to movies to books. I absolutely love it when people take their creative passions and use them for the glory of God. But I have never seen an illustrated story Bible for adults. Well, until recently. Eyewitness: The Visual Bible Experience is a beautiful story Bible with over 120 original works of art by 16 artists from around the world for adults and older teens!

Not only is it a stunning visual depiction of stories from the Bible, but it is written from a firsthand perspective. The writing throughout is so heartfelt and moving. There is something so striking about imagining the story being told from an eyewitness account. I haven’t seen another book quite like this one.

The book shares most of the major stories in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and every story tells the story from the character’s point of view. I think another thing that is important to highlight is that the publisher had veteran Bible curriculum editors and scholars ensure that every story and passage interpretation remained true to Scripture. I am truly astounded by this beautiful depiction of the Bible stories told firsthand.
