One Habit to Creating Your Best Year Ever
I have always been an optimistic person by nature. I absolutely love looking into the future as it is full of possibilities and the wonders of God's goodness. I love to see the beautiful path God creates as He is leading our family. And I love choosing to look to Jesus when life doesn't seem to be going my way.
As a young child the gift of optimism helped me through a really hard childhood full of sadness and desperation. Little did I know that one day I'd find out that optimism in and of itself was not enough. And when I did, God showed me the one thing that would help me create the best life possible.
Today, as we dawn on a brand new year, I am going to share with you the one habit that will help you create the very best year ever.
One Habit to Creating Your Best Year Ever
Habits, good or bad, are something that we are always forming. From our day-to-day influences to our learned behaviors, we need to pay close attention to what we are allowing to influence our habits.
But how do we know if we are forming the best habits? How can we be sure we are allowing God to be the biggest influence in all we do?
The only way we can be certain to have our very best year ever is to develop a strong habit of memorizing God's Word.
Why Scripture Memorization?
Memorizing God's Word is a discipline that leads to increased faith, obedience, and developing Christ-like habits. Only God's Word can give us the wisdom and discipline we need in order to have the best year of our lives.
3 Ways Memorizing God's Word Helps Us Have Our Best Year
1. When we know God's Word we are able to be certain our habits and plans are in line with His will. And when we are in line with God's plan for our lives, we know they will be blessed.
James 1:25, "But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it."
2. When we have God's Word hidden in our heart we are able to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit when we are in need of God's wisdom.
3. Having God's Word memorized also gives us the ability to carry His peace no matter what situations we face each day.
So as you go about planning for the best year ever, be certain that you are cultivating the habit of memorizing God's Word to help make your best year a reality! I'd love for you to join our Scripture memorization challenge to help you on your way.
