Hi, friend!

Hi friend! I am so glad you have stopped by the site. We have such a wonderful community of moms here and we would LOVE for you to join us as we share life and learn together!

To the Mom Who Could Use a Little Grace

To the Mom Who Could Use a Little Grace

Have you ever been caught in the comparison game?

Don’t answer that. I think we all already know the answer

Look how clean her house is! What about her kids? Why do they actually like each other? Oh, her car! Not only is it new, but it’s clean!?

Those are just a few things that may have gone through my mind at one time or another. How about you? Lately I’ve been working really hard to discern the voice of God. And let me tell you, when you really take the time to do this it’s almost frightening to realize just how often the voices we are listening to or the doubts that we’re experiencing are not from God at all. Just the opposite in fact.

John 10:10 says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

When we spend our time focusing on what we DON’T have, we are missing out on the gifts that we DO have.

I don’t know about you, but I want life and I want to have it to the full.  We don’t have to have it all figured out.  Because...well...GRACE. Grace to accept ourselves and all of our imperfections. And what a gift that is!  Because of one reason – God loves us. And the coolest part about this “grace” is that He also gives us relationships. I have been so fortunate in this particular area. The women God has graced me to do life with are sincerely some of the most amazing, God-fearing women you’ll ever meet. And they’re all so different, but so perfectly made to walk by my side as I navigate through life.

For example, I have friends that are always ready to cook a meal for me when my family is in need. And what a blessing that is - especially when you don’t love to cook to begin with! And then there are the friends that just walk with me and shepherd me and inspire me to be the best version of myself – and those friends are so precious and rare! And friends who would drop anything just to simply sit and pray over me and for me. Are you seeing this yet? God’s GRACE covers us in so many ways and through so many people!

We don’t have to have perfect kids. Or a perfect husband. Or a perfectly clean house. So let’s start giving ourselves some grace. Grace to just breathe…and thank God for everything He has blessed us with. And let us remember 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Enjoy this gift of grace, my friends. And don’t listen to the voice of the enemy. You’re doing great, even when you’re not “feeling” great.  Because…GRACE.

Blessings!

Nikki

P.S. We’re growing in grace together all month here to celebrate the release of The Better Mom book! Find out more here.

At the heart of The Better Mom is the message that Jesus calls us to live not a weary life, but a worthy life. We don’t have to settle for either being apathetic or struggling to be perfect. Both visions of motherhood go too far. Ruth offers a better option. She says, “It’s okay to come as we are, but what we’re called to do and be is far too important to stay there! The way to becoming a better mom starts not with what we are doing, but with who God is inviting us to become."
