Hi, friend!

Hi friend! I am so glad you have stopped by the site. We have such a wonderful community of moms here and we would LOVE for you to join us as we share life and learn together!

For the Mom with a Crazy Dream

For the Mom with a Crazy Dream

A year ago, I had a crazy thought. Ok, let’s back up. I had a crazy thought today, yesterday and the day before that… but the one I am referring to now stands out because it involved my daughter.

Here’s what happened…

I looked at my then 12-year-old and said, “How fun would it be for you and I to write a book together?”

She looked up at me with an expression that mimicked the randomness of my words, nodded and finished focusing on the math problems outlined on the pages in front of her.

I didn’t really know why I had that particular thought, why I shared it with her or if she was even listening, but apparently she was and I am so glad that I did.

That same evening, a few hours later, right before bedtime, she came into my room with a notebook and said,

“Mommy, when we write our book, I know what I want one of the character’s names to be.” She said while opening to a page in her journal which displayed the name “Mallory Winston.”

That was it. She closed the book and started to leave the room.

“I love it!” I yelled to her and smiled, as ran back to whatever she was doing.

Crazy, right?

Well, did you know that our craziest thoughts can actually be the planting of God-sized dreams?

Psalm 37:4 (ESV)

Delight yourself in the Lord,

and he will give you the desires of your heart.

When we are faithfully (not perfectly) delighting ourselves in God and focused on the situations He has placed right in front of us, we create an environment that welcomes His desires into our hearts.

Crazy thoughts planted in willing hearts can become a reality designed to bring God Glory.

On April 25th, 2017, Alena and I released book one, Hello Stars, in the three book series, Lena in the Spotlight, in partnership with Faithgirlz.

As crazy as it seemed, Mallory Winston found a home and a seemingly random dream is now serving as a positive, Christ-focused example for little girls across the country and prayerfully around the world.

I am so grateful for the experience of writing Hello Stars and the Lena in the Spotlight series with my daughter, Alena, but I am in awe that the actual creator of the universe would show himself so clearly and personally to my 12-year old daughter and I.

Nothing is random, crazy or too big with Christ. Each and every conversation we have with our children is an opportunity to point them to Him—His truth, His promises and the possibilities that rest in His love.

My prayer is that you and I will model what it looks like to focus on the pages in front of us while saying yes to the stories that God wants to write through our lives!

Blessings,

Wynter Pitts
