4 Scriptures for Back-to-School

4 Scriptures for Back-to-School

I can hardly believe that summer is winding down and it is almost time for the back-to-school season! Growing up I absolutely loved the transition from summer into my favorite season of fall. With fall comes milder temperatures and beautiful colors and the smell of the crisp cool air.

As a mother I am still in love with all-things fall and back-to-school. From the anticipation of starting another year of homeschool to the excitement that leads us into the season of our Savior's birth - back-to-school is a time of refreshing and newness.

Today I want to share with you 4 Scriptures that will be close to my heart and mind while we get ready for back-to-school.

4 Scriptures for Back-to-School

1 Timothy 4:12 (KJV) - "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."

Exodus 31:3 (KJV) - "And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship," This is a great verse to pray and confess over your children in the area of learning, finishing strong, and walking in their gifts.

Philippians 4:13 (KJV) - "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." This verse is a daily reminder when we hit rough patches in our homeschool year that no matter what comes our way, through Christ we can overcome. This has been a big blessing when it comes to reminding the children that although we may face many obstacles along the way - ultimately God is in control.

2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) - "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." I love this Scripture to speak and pray with the children any time they are tempted to be afraid. Sometimes the children have been afraid they weren't going to do well on a new lesson or art project. There have been other times where we moved to a new city and they were afraid they wouldn't make new friends. Whatever the temptation to fear, this Bible verse helps take away the burden that fear brings and replace it with God's peace.

I love to memorize Scriptures year-round and pray them over my loved ones. As a homeschooling family we face many of the same challenges when school starts back after summer so it is very important to me to have God's Word handy to speak life over our homeschool and pray His Word.
