When Motherhood Reveals Your Blemishes

When Motherhood Reveals Your Blemishes

“So don’t worry, because I am with you. Don’t be afraid, because I am your God. I will make you strong and will help you; I will support you with my right hand that saves you.” Isaiah 41:10

Wow.

Don’t worry? Don’t be afraid?

Why?

Because I am your God and I will make you strong and help you?!  I will support you with the power of my right hand, which saves you!

This is such a powerful truth, but it is in the midst of hardships, trials, pain, and the fear of the unknown that a faith in this truth is truly put to the test.

I don’t think that there is any weightier temptation to struggle with the fear of the unknown than when you are in the midst of hardships during parenthood.

Nothing tests our faith, our fortitude or our patience quite like motherhood. When you endure difficulty, in your finances, in your health, in your relationships, are you prone to fear or worry? Here's how we can be sure to respond with truth when l…

It’s one thing to walk through health struggles, but an entirely different thing to watch your child walk down that road.

It’s a taxing challenge to struggle financially, but to struggle financially as a parent, bears a different weight.

I remember how I viewed hardships before I was a parent. My faith seemed unwavering, my patience for walking through trials seemed tenacious, my confidence was solid, and fear wasn’t much of a temptation.

Then I became a mother.

It wasn’t like my faith in God was any less, but it’s funny how motherhood reveals those blemishes of sin: the distrust, the lack of confidence, the fears, and the worry.

Motherhood is sanctifying.

So what do we do when we find ourselves in a season of worry, doubt, fear, or suffering as mothers?

We are supposed to remember the truth about our God and Father over all things. We are supposed to remember the truth proclaimed in His Word.

“So don’t worry, because I am with you. Don’t be afraid, because I am your God. I will make you strong and will help you; I will support you with my right hand that saves you.” Isaiah 41:10

When we remember who we are in Christ, nothing can rob us of joy, of our confidence, or of optimism. Optimism is often regarding extra biblically in today’s culture, but when we read the truth about what God says concerning any situation or circumstance we may find ourself in, we can find hope and optimism.

In the midst of hardship, remember truth friends. And cast out any lie the enemy may try to feed you.

God has promised you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

Financial problems, God will provide for your every need. Phil. 4:19

Death and disease, God has conquered the power of death and promises eternal life. Romans 8:1-2
